I completed my undergraduate degree at Northwest Missouri State University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Child and Family Studies. I stayed at Northwest Missouri State University to complete my graduate program. I graduated in the spring of 2018 with a Master of Education in School Guidance and Counseling.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband Sam and our son Boyd. Some of my hobbies include photography, creating Circut projects, traveling, helping with my family’s row crop farm, going on walks, and more.

WHAT DOES A SCHOOL COUNSELOR DO?

It can be difficult to describe the role of a school counselor and all of the tasks/responsibilities that go along with the position. The simplest explanation is that a school counselor helps support students in three content areas:

  1. Academic Development

2. Social/Emotional Development

3. Career Development

Check out the resources below to help better understand the role of a school counselor. Don’t hesitate to contact Mrs. Elsberry if you have any further questions.
